Greg McDermott (born November 25 1964) has been Head Coach of the Creighton University Bluejays men’s basketball team since April 26 in 2010. Before that, McDermott was director of basketball in Wayne State College, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa and Iowa State. McDermott is also the dad of NBA basketball player Doug McDermott.

McDermott continued as the Panthers director of football for five years between 2001 between 2001 and the year 2006. In his time, he guided Northern Iowa to an overall record of 90 wins and the loss of 63 (90-63) as well as in 2004, the Missouri Valley Conference tournament championship and three appearances in the 2004and 2005 and NCAA Tournaments in 2006.

McDermott resigned his position with Northern Iowa on March 21, 2006, and accepted the same one at Iowa State. In April of 2000, McDermott resigned his Wayne State job and was offered the role of head coach for North Dakota State. In his one season at the State McDermott led the Bison to a total winning record that included 11 defeats (15-11) in the process of achieving an eighth-place finish at the top of the North Central Conference.
